CHARTERED APRIL 29, 1991

ROTARY CLUB OF KALOOKAN NORTH

RC Kalookan North is the brainchild of the equally young and dynamic PDG Marcelina ‘Lina’ Aurelio of RC Sampaguita Gracepark.  The Club was set in motion on April 14, 1991 in a meeting presided by PDG Lina Aurelio, PDG Edi Chua C.K., PDG Teddy Zamora and eight prospective members.

Sailing was initially rough thou after tedious adjustment by the prospective members and series of Rotary Information given by DGSR Lina, DS Teddy, Extension Chairman Pres. San Juan and other notable Rotarians,  PDG Nani Certeza and PDS Rudy Alonso, the club become reality.  The provisional club was subsequently chartered by the Rotary International on April 29, 1991.

It was on April 14, 1991, during the regular meeting that an election was held and the group finally came up with their constitution and by – laws.  Elected as Charter President was Carlos V. Cabochon of CVC Supermarket.

             The charter officers’ induction ceremonies was held at the Valle Verde Country Club on August 03, 1991 marked the birth of Rotary Club of Kalookan North. 

 

MEMBERSHIP ROSTER

 

The Rotary Club of Kalookan North is a precedent in the annals of Rotary Club formation.  It fully contravenes the prevalent notion that Rotary is for the unexpecting and passive middle aged and senior members of society.  The RC Kalookan North is the sanctuary of the young and vibrant.

Among its members are young and dynamic professional and businessmen.  The club has a supermarket manager, costume designer, banker, food retailer, surgeon, dentist, hotel restaurant management consultant, travels and tours manager, civil engineer, architect, school administrator, educator, LPG distributor, security services, industrial chemical distributor, real state developer, trucking services, plumbing and mechanical engineer, electrical engineer and a cultural production director.

 

PROJECTS

 

With the club’s fifteenth year in service, various projects had been done and still going on to help our community and less fortunate fellowmen.  Among them are construction of public toilet, tree planting, dental and medical mission, artificial eye implantation, operation “BUKOL,” operation hernia, operation “tule:, operation “pustiso”, operation cataract, computer literacy, college and vocational scholarship grants, gift-giving projects, seminar and training programs, career development talk projects, vocational tour, installation of 4-way test billboard, job fair promotion, adopt a day care center, hosting of GSE Team and Rotex student, sponsoring of a new Rotary Club, book and toys donation, water improvement and development program and other various organized by the District and Rotary International.

With all these accomplishments, the club chosen “The Most Outstanding N.G.O in Caloocan” by the city government by Hon. Mayor Reynaldo O. Malonzo and the award was given during the 38th Foundation Day of Caloocan last February 16, 2000 with then Vice President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
